Parry Barn, 46a Main Street

Awarded a Bronze Plaque in 1996

This traditional barn (or ‘laithe’) dates from the 1820s when there were still farms along Main Street. It features an owl-hole over the arched cart entrance to encourage the nesting of Barn Owls to control rodents, and also arrow-slit shaped ventilators.

It has been used by Parry’s Adhesives Ltd. It is is now called ‘Parry Barn’ and converted to housing.
