The Heritage Group Introduction

For the benefit of the village, the Addingham Heritage Group's aims are to:

• Improve the historical record of the village, including the Addingham Photo Archive
• Research the built, social, agricultural and industrial history of Addingham
• Undertake projects to celebrate and promote interest in the village heritage
• Contribute to the protection and enhancement of the village
• Encourage the involvement of individuals and organisations in these aims

CIVIC SOCIETY’S 18TH BLUE PLAQUE UNVEILED

As many of you will know, over a period of about 8 years the Civic Society installed 17 Blue Plaques in and around the Village. The last one was in the Summer of 2022 and there is a village trail that can be followed to find them all (a booklet is available from the Society).
Now there’s an 18th plaque. Don Barrett, the Society’s President was presented with his very own framed ‘blue plaque’ in recognition of his work for the Society and, in particular as the retiring founder Chairman of the Heritage Group. The plaque was presented to Don in August 2023 by the new Chairman, Dr Ian Cameron.

The Heritage Group promises Don that he will not be included on a revised blue plaque trail!
