Don Barrett Blue Plaque PresentationCIVIC SOCIETY’S 16TH BLUE PLAQUE UNVEILED

By Mike Bolton

As many of you will know, over a period of about 8 years the Civic Society installed 15 Blue Plaques in and around the Village. The last one was in the Summer of 2022 and there is a village trail that can be followed to find them all (a booklet is available from the Society).
Now there’s a 16th plaque. Don Barrett, the Society’s President was presented with his very own framed ‘blue plaque’ in recognition of his work for the Society and, in particular as the retiring founder Chairman of the Heritage Group. The plaque was presented to Don at a recent meeting of the Group by the new Chairman, Dr Ian Cameron.

The Heritage Group promises Don that he will not be included on a revised blue plaque trail!
